I've been hearing a lot of things going on in Oklahoma these days. It sounds more and more like Oklahoma is the front line in some of the more pitched political battles going on across America.
I heard that there was a petition going around to end race-based preferences; you can learn more by clicking here.
Then, Paul Jacob, long-time political activist and defender of citizen's rights, was indicted for supporting a Taxpayer Bill of Rights.
Hopefully our brother Terry will keep us in the loop as he hears about these things going on in his home state.

Mike, you neglected to mention H.B. 1804 as a major part of the recent political happenings in Oklahoma. Shame on you! ;)
What's going on with us Sooners? Well, lemme tell ya, liberalism has about run its course here in Oklahoma. It's wore out its welcome, in another manner of speaking. We've had it up to here, man! And we ain't done yet, not by a long shot.

Terry,
Thanks for the comments. Well, I'd have mentioned it, but then what would you have had to say on the post? ;)
Liberalism may very well be at the high point of its existence, as I was thinking earlier today. Time will tell.

Hey, Okies didn't wait for no starting pistol in the land rush, and they ain't gonna wait for no Washington politicians remote controlled by the worldwide corporate establishment to start demolishing the high-rise slums of liberalism.
Sooner than soon! Run the flag of constitutional government up the flagpole!
Rick,
I couldn't have said it better m'self!

Michael,
Thanks for posting on this.
Terry,
Your are making Oklahoma sound like a paradise, maybe I should consider moving there;-)
DR,
Not a bad idea. Then we could finally bury the hatchet with respect to that issue between us and together root for the Sooners.
-MT
(you know, that whole "jealous-of-the-Bears-because-of-how-great-they-are" thing)
DR,
Yeah, you're right, I've been tooting Oklahoma's horn quite a bit lately and pretty loudly, and making it sound like a conservative paradise, which it really isn't. By comparison to most other states, yes. But on its own merits with genuine conservatism as the standard of measure, Oklahoma is far from being a conservative Mecca. So there's no need for conservatives in comparatively liberal states to face their toilets away from Oklahoma just yet. ;)
-Terry
MT,
I was only half joking. Speaking of burying the hatchet I have noticed that your Bears posts have been non existent lately. How am I supposed to brag if you don't post anything. As for me I am trying to keep my big yap shut so I don't jinx us.
Terry,
If my stated was doing something about illegal immigration I would be shouting from the roof tops, so keep it up. I wish the federal government and the rest of the states would put the people first like Oklahoma is.
Gentlemen,
But I think the point that bears repeating here is that the states are where it's at. Any good, meaningful, and lasting change has got to come from the states, so let's have at it!
-MT
P.S. DR, Mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Sounds about right for Beardom.
thanks for the link....
