Public Service Announcement

Perhaps you're a recent high school graduate, and candidly, you slept through most of your civics requirements.

Or maybe you're the Speaker of the House of Representatives and as an utter embarrassment to your country, you're confused about the separation of powers principle (you think the President's job includes rallying votes to pass moronic amnesty legislation, for example; which is the responsibility of your elitist counterparts in Congress).

For both of you, fortunately, there's a convenient guide you can reference when you have tricky questions you can't answer (like, "is it the domain of Congress to act as Commander in Chief?"): it's called the Constitution.

In light of how "enlightened" both my high school age brothers are, I'd say the problem lies more with who's not teaching them what then who's sleeping through class.

Just to be fair, you know.

...Most days, I think at least the one brother (who's teacher rabidly hates all Republicans, goes to DC to attend kook peace rallies, and loves class discussions on legalizing weed) would be better off if ALL he did in class was sleep.

But actually, last I checked, I thought Madame Speaker thought that SHE was president? What with the out of country trips and whatnot.

Hey Sebo,

You've got a point there. In fact, a couple. But just to be fair, I was thinking of the Speaker and I thought: what would one have to do to be that dense? And then I thought: perhaps never learn a single thing! And of course, I was reminded of my own experience in physics. ;)

She sure does think highly of herself, the Speaker. Maybe she'll just write a book, maybe call it "My Life" and go on the speaking circuit. Nah, that's so overdone.

Being overdone doesn't mean it won't be redone in modern politics, though, lol. One can only wish.

Speaking of utter embarassments, switch over to CSPAN (I or II, it doesn't matter) once in awhile...and get you a bellyfull.

To be sure, that tome wrought by the pen of Mme Speaker is more likely to be titled "My Struggle," eh Adolph?

By the way, Mr. Hamilton, I expect you'll get a kick out of this...

"Ah, sleep, that's where I'm a Viking!"

Why do you think I never watch CPSAN?

Yes, her struggle that has brought women farther then they have ever been... :gag:

Funny, but I can't place that quote...?
